In brief
In brief
Set a five-minute timer. This is not a workout and you do not have to feel better at the end. The purpose is to interrupt the rush long enough to choose the next step with more information. Stop if movement makes you feel unwell, dizzy or unsafe.
- Minute one: put both feet down and make your exhale a little longer than your inhale.
- Minute two: drink some water and notice whether you have eaten recently.
- Minute three: roll your shoulders, turn your head gently and stand if that feels comfortable.
- Minute four: walk slowly around the room or outside, without tracking pace or distance.
- Minute five: choose one next action—food, rest, daylight, a short task, movement or asking for help.
